Beaches in Vigo & Cangas

Rodeira Beach– Cangas

Located in the centre of Cangas, Rodeira Beach is the main beach in this town. The long seaside promenade along the beach will allow you to enjoy a nice walk next to one of the most beautiful beaches in the coastal stretch of O Morrazo, with a splendid panoramic view of Vigo Bay.

Liméns Beach – Cangas

Liméns beach is located in the Liméns Inlet, in Vigo Bay. Samil beach, on the opposite side of the Bay, can be seen from there. This sandy area has dunes, and a small lake forms there outside the summer season where numerous birds, such as seagulls, or cormorants, gather.

Nerga Beach – Cangas

The famous Nerga Beach is located inside of the Cabo Home Natural Area. The fine, white sand of this beach stretches for 700 metres. In 2011, Nerga Beach it was awarded a Blue Flag.

Barra Beach – Cangas

Barra Beach is one of the most captivating places in O Morrazo. This 750-metre-long beach offers great-quality waters and fine white sand and. It has become a nudist paradise in the Rías Baixas and the best nudist beach in Galicia.

Melide Beach – Cangas

Melide Beach is one of the wildest beaches in Cangas, located between Punta Fuxiño and Punta Robaleira, near Cabo Home. This fine, white sandy beach is 250 metres long and 40 metres wide, and it offers the perfect conditions for surfing.

Area Brava Beach – Cangas

Area Brava Beach is the widest beach in the Aldán Bay, and it is an important place to admire flora and fauna. It is an unspoilt beach, with dune systems, transparent waters and fine, white sand.

Area Cova Beach – Cangas

Area Cova Beach is an idyllic sandy area, awarded with the Blue Flag, located between Punta Sartaxéns and Punta Pedra Rubia, in the Aldán Bay. It is 250 metres long, and it offers quiet waters, fine sand and marvellous views of the opposite side of the Bay. There are food and camping services available.

Menduíña Beach – Cangas

Located in the Aldán Bay, the Menduíña beach has been awarded a Blue Flag and it is surrounded by rocks with interesting shapes caused by erosion and sedimentation. It has a lifeguard service, a Civil Protection stand, drinkable water, showers, kiosks, restaurants and beach libraries.

Samil is, undoubtedly, one of the best-equipped urban beaches in Europe. It is advisable to go there out of season, because it is usually very crowded in summer, since many visitors choose it to spend the weekend.
