This Christmas, you will be able to enjoy an evening boat trip along the Ría de Vigo with the Mar de Ons passenger ship company. This year, we wanted to add to the numerous Christmas activities that are taking place in the city of Christmas lights with our “Barco do Nadal de Vigo”. This boat is full of lights, excitement and lots of surprises.
Who doesn’t fancy an evening boat trip, and now a Christmas trip too, along the Ría de Vigo? Passengers will be able to enjoy the city’s lights from a privileged position. On board, passengers will be welcomed with a mulled wine or culin of cider and Christmas pastries. They will also be able to enjoy the best Christmas music thanks to a DJ and have a drink or something to eat in the bar inside the boat.
At the same time, children travelling with the Mar de Ons passenger ship company will get to see Father Christmas or the Royal Page of the three Kings, depending on the date of their visit. Upon boarding, all those who want to will be offered a letter so they can write their Christmas wishes and post it in the postbox on board.
In addition, they will be able to take a photo or personally tell Father Christmas or the Royal Page what their Christmas wishes are. It will certainly be an unforgettable experience for everyone.
The ‘Barco do Nadal de Vigo’ will make several boat trips almost every day until January 4th and they will last for an hour and a half. Departures will take place from the A Laxe dock, close to the Cíes Christmas Market.
In addition, before the boat sets sail each day, children from the area will have the opportunity to visit the boat and meet Father Christmas or the Royal Page. This service will take place between six and seven in the evening.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the passenger ship company’s ticket office or on the website. If you find yourself at Cíes Market, you will also be able to buy tickets there. This year, we have set up a point of sale at our favourite Christmas market, so you will be able to visit more than 100 stalls when you go to buy your ticket for from our stall. The Vigo Christmas market, “Cíes Market”, is the focal point of Vigo’s Christmas activity and the Mar de Ons passenger ship company just had to be there. Come to the boulevard to buy your ticket and enjoy all of the Christmas activities to the max!
In terms of purchasing tickets, we would like to remind you that you should book in advance, since places will be very limited. The price of the “El Paseo no Barco do Nadal de Vigo” boat trip for adults (over the age of 12 years) is 12 euros, for children (aged from 3 to 12 years) it costs 8 euros, and children under the age of 3 will be able to go for free.
The “Visita O Barco do Nadal de Vigo” visit costs 4 euros per person, and children under the age of 3 can visit for free.
The lights switch on attended by Abel Caballero
On Friday December 3rd, this new service was launched with an event that was attended by Vigo’s mayor, Abel Caballero. During the boat trip, the lights were switched on and guests were able to enjoy a trip with Christmas music and Father Christmas who listened to children’s wishes.
This weekend, many passengers were able to enjoy the same trip. An unforgettable experience that enabled them to enjoy a pleasant boat trip along the ria with the city’s lights in the background.
