Hiking and Cycling Routes in Vigo & Cangas

Old Town Route – Cangas

On this route, the visitor will discover the historic and artistic heritage of Cangas do Morrazo, wandering through the alleys of its historic centre, with its “casas de patín”, so typical from the Rías Baixas, and its charming squares.

Congorza-Cangas Trail

In the Congorza trail, history and culture interrtwine with nature and impressive landscapes. It is recommended to take this trail if you are travelling with children, because it ends at the Congorza Lake or Laguna Massó, also known as the “Laguna de los Patos” (“Duck Lake”), an area of a great natural richness and perfect to enjoy unique leisure moments.

Cabo Home-Cangas Trail

This is one of the most beautiful and most wonderful coastal trails in Galicia. It links Cangas do Morrazo and Cabo Home, the westernmost point of the O Morrazo peninsula. This area is completely protected, making up the Costa da Vela Protected Natural Area, one of the few unspoilt places along the coast of Pontevedra.

Las Furnas-Cangas Coastal Trail

A beautiful path running along the coast of the Cangas Bay, which allows the visitors to escape from the hustle and bustle of the town centre and enjoy a unique and unparalleled landscape.

Areamilla to Limens Coastal Trail – Cangas

The Areamilla to Liméns Coastal Trail is a fantastic hiking trail running along the coastal landscapes of O Morrazo. It starts at the Cangas port and goes north, bordering the coast and offering some impressive views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Vigo in 60 minutes

Despite being the biggest city in Galicia, it is possible to discover much of the past, present and future of Vigo with a one-hour walking tour. Besides discovering the most surprising architectural landmarks in the city, you will also see some of the most relevant monuments such as La Farola in Urzaiz or El Sireno in Puerta del Sol.

Monte do Castro Trail – Vigo

This trail starting at Monte do Castro offers one of the walks with the best views of Vigo. Located right next to the shopping streets and the administrative and residential areas in Vigo, O Castro is the largest park in the city centre and, together with Parque de Castrelos, its true lungs.

Old Town Route – Vigo

This route lasts approximately for 90 minutes and it allows the traveller to visit the must-sees of Vigo with a short, entertaining walk. This route will take you to the old town and allow you to discover the aspects that make Vigo the most modern city in Galicia. The route starts at the Ocean Liners Dock and reaches the city centre.

Vigo Panoramic Trail

This nature trail borders the whole city and goes along its hills. It runs for 40 kilometres and it is the longest hiking trail in Vigo. Given its length, it can be completed in 3 stages lasting 5 hours each. The starting points of several shorter trails can be found along this path.

Senda Azul – Vigo

La Senda Azul, que incluye la llamada senda del río Lagares, es un tranquilo paseo fluvial que va desde Vigo hasta sus playas. A la ruta del Lagares es posible acceder desde numerosas calles del centro de Vigo y recorrerlo en pequeños tramos: su longitud total hasta la playa de Samil es de unos 8 kilómetros.

Una vez terminado el recorrido junto al río, se puede proseguir por la Senda Azul, cuyo trazado incluye el paseo junto al río y continúa por las playas de Vigo. A través de esta ruta, se pueden ver pintorescos arenales, enmarcados en un enclave natural de gran belleza.

Ruta del Agua – Vigo

Esta famosa ruta natural discurre por diversos accesos y vías de servicio del canal que transportaba agua desde el embalse de Eiras, en Fornelos de Montes, hasta Vigo. El último tramo, desde el municipio de Redondela, discurre por una zona de gran belleza, entre bosques y riachuelos, y desde ella se contempla buena parte de la ría de Vigo y curiosas perspectivas del Puente de Rande.

A lo largo de esta ruta entrarás en contacto con bellas y variadas especies naturales, y resulta una actividad de esparcimiento ideal para ir con niños, ya que no tiene cuestas y es una ruta sencilla.
