Rodas Beach Spain

Rodas Beach, in Spain, or “Playa de Rodas”, is a crescent-shaped strip of white sand beach. Locals call this their Caribbean and given the turquoise waters that wash the shore, it is easy to imagine you are in that part of the world. The waters, however, give it away that you are in Europe as they tend to be on the chilly side.

Behind the beach is a small lagoon and this whets your appetite to explore the islands, principally Ons and Cíes Islands as these feature the best trails and beaches, and by extension have the best views. Many of the islands are out of bounds to we humans, and there is a strictly enforced limit to visitor numbers to preserve the fragile microclimate that protects the rare species of wildlife that depend on it.
